According to reports, the emergence of flamboyant independent candidate Abraham Luzzi is reportedly causing significant panic within the camp of Lewis Rubongoya, the National Unity Platform (NUP) flag bearer for Kampala Central.
Although Rubongoya like many other NUP candidates was primarily designed to run a social media–driven campaign, Luzzi has also heavily invested in digital outreach, which has rapidly boosted his popularity across the constituency.

Sources reveal that Rubongoya, like several NUP aspirants, lacks sufficient funding for ground mobilization and is relying on an upcoming visit from party president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) to energize and elevate his campaign, similar to the 2021 strategy.
However, the so-called “Luzzi project,” initially believed to have been created to weaken Rubongoya’s support, has instead triggered unexpected panic in the camps of Kushabe and Hajjat Kabanda, with reports indicating that plans to silence Luzzi are already underway.
