American-Senegalese singer and entrepreneur Akon is facing a major personal and financial storm after his wife, Tomeka Thiam, reportedly filed for divorce, ending their 29-year marriage.
According to reports, Tomeka has demanded €100 million as compensation following years of partnership and support in Akon’s career and business ventures.
However, in a surprising twist, the court discovered that the multi-platinum artist only had $10,000 in his personal account with most of his assets allegedly held under his mother’s name.

The revelation has sparked widespread online debate, with fans questioning whether the move was a strategic financial decision or a genuine case of asset protection.
Akon, known for global hits like “Lonely” and “Smack That”, as well as his ambitious Akon City project in Senegal, has not yet issued an official statement regarding the ongoing divorce proceedings.
