Singer BigEye StarBoss has officially joined the political race by submitting his expression of interest forms to contest for the Nansana Municipality MP seat, currently occupied by Hon. Wakayima.
This comes at a time when the incumbent has reportedly fallen out with some top party officials at Kavule, weakening his hold on the seat.
BigEye’s political ambition, however, is not without stiff competition.
His biggest challenger is former TV political show host Zambaali Bulasio Mukasa, whose bid is strongly backed by Hon. Betty Nambooze.
Mukasa, popularly known for his eloquence and grassroots approach, has already made headlines with a controversial staged police attack, a move some believe was meant to paint him as a popular and “feared” candidate.
The battle for the NUP party flag in Nansana is expected to intensify as both BigEye and Zambaali build momentum.
While BigEye brings celebrity appeal and a youth following, Zambaali comes with political connections and tactical campaigning.
The final verdict, however, lies with the people of Nansana and the party’s vetting committee in Kavule.
