Billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates has announced his commitment to accelerate his charitable giving, aiming to donate his entire fortune before his death.
The Microsoft co-founder revealed that he plans to double his donations through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, pledging over $200 billion within the next 20 years.
In a recent statement, Gates emphasized his determination to avoid dying as a wealthy man. “People will say a lot of things about me when I die, but I am determined that ‘he died rich’ will not be one of them,” he stated.
The Gates Foundation, one of the largest private charitable organizations globally, will continue its mission to address global health, poverty, education, and climate change.
Gates confirmed that the foundation will eventually close permanently, ensuring that all funds are used for charitable purposes rather than being retained.
