National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Bobi Wine has said that a future government under his leadership will organize fresh by-elections in constituencies where candidates were declared unopposed by the Electoral Commission (EC).
According to Bobi Wine, many opposition candidates were unfairly blocked from contesting, claiming the ruling establishment feared losing those seats. He argues that unopposed victories deny voters their democratic right to choose leaders freely.

The NUP leader emphasized that restoring electoral justice and fairness will be a key priority of his government, noting that Ugandans deserve competitive elections where all qualified candidates are allowed to participate.
Bobi Wine’s remarks come amid ongoing debates over election transparency, candidate disqualifications, and the independence of the Electoral Commission.
