National Unity Platform (NUP) President, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has officially returned his expression of interest forms to contest for the President of Uganda under the NUP ticket in the upcoming 2026 General Elections.
The move marks Kyagulanyi’s second attempt at the presidency after his first bid in 2021, where he emerged as the main opposition figure challenging President Museveni.
While handing in the forms at the NUP headquarters in Kamwokya, Bobi Wine emphasized the need for change, justice, and good governance in Uganda.
“We are not backing down. We are preparing to lead this country into a new chapter,” he stated.
The development has energized his supporters and added momentum to the growing political campaigns as Uganda edges closer to the highly anticipated 2026 elections.
