While opening party offices in Busoga earlier today, National Unity Platform (NUP) president Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, openly called on former Speaker of Parliament Hon. Rebecca Kadaga to abandon the ruling NRM party and join the opposition.
Bobi Wine insisted that Kadaga is “more respected in the opposition than in Museveni’s government,” pointing out her long service and influence in Ugandan politics.
According to sources, if Kadaga chooses to cross to NUP, a bigger position awaits her, with promises of a good salary package and broader connections to world leaders through the party’s international networks.
The bold invitation has already stirred debate, with many waiting to see if Kadaga will make the historic move that could reshape the political landscape ahead of the 2026 general elections.
