In a heartfelt public letter, Dr. Hajjat Kulthum Nabunya Muzaata, widely known as Dr. Kulu, has announced the end of her marriage to Mr. Acram Gumisiriza.
The couple, who tied the knot officially in 2022 after Kulthum’s loss of her first husband, the late Sheikh Muzaata Batte, has decided to part ways after a period of marital challenges.
Kulthum expressed that although the relationship started with hope for companionship and healing, it soon showed signs of strain.
She cited deep reflection, numerous efforts to mend their bond, and a growing emotional distance as reasons behind her decision.
“This is not about blame. It’s about acknowledging that we are no longer good for each other in the way that a partnership should be,” she wrote, emphasizing that the decision came after much soul-searching and was not made lightly.
Dr. Kulthum highlighted her desire for the divorce process to be respectful and dignified, entrusting Sheikh Abdul Rahaman Serunjoji and her family with overseeing the proceedings.
She also acknowledged the spiritual significance of marriage and divorce, expressing hope for healing and peace for both herself and Acram.
Her announcement marks the official close of their union, as she assured the public that the matter will be handled maturely and with fairness.
Kulthum is now ready to embark on a new chapter of her life.
