Authorities in Dubai have arrested Abbey Mwesigwa, a Ugandan national accused of running a sex-trade network, following an explosive BBC investigation.
Mwesigwa, who went viral earlier this year after the expose revealed how he lured Ugandan girls with promises of decent jobs in Dubai, only to traffic them into inhumane activities with wealthy men, is now in police custody.

According to a Dubai law firm that contacted the BBC, Mwesigwa is currently being held at Al Awir Prison in Dubai on a notice from Interpol Uganda.
The arrest marks a major breakthrough in the fight against human trafficking networks targeting vulnerable Ugandan girls seeking employment abroad.
