Big Talent boss Edrisah Musuuza, famously known as Eddy Kenzo, has expressed disappointment and frustration over the way Ugandan artists were treated during the recently concluded Coffee Marathon Concert held in Rwashameire, Ntungamo.
In a candid statement, Kenzo revealed that he deliberately skipped the press conference because he felt disrespected and sidelined by the event organizers, who appeared to give all the attention to Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz.

“Diamond was given a private jet to Uganda, and when he arrived, they gave him a chopper to the venue,” Kenzo said. “Meanwhile, all we got was fuel. It felt like we were co-wives fighting for the same man. That kind of disrespect makes it seem like there are no Ugandan artists—like Diamond is the only musician that matters.”
Kenzo’s comments come amid growing public debate after it was revealed that Diamond Platnumz was paid UGX 750 million to headline the event.
Many Ugandan musicians have voiced their dissatisfaction, citing the lack of support from their own government despite backing national causes and even the ruling NRM.

The award-winning singer’s reaction highlights the ongoing struggle for local artists to be recognized and fairly compensated, especially during events meant to promote Ugandan culture, such as the Coffee Marathon.
Kenzo concluded by saying that artists in Uganda deserve more respect and that any effort to promote national causes should equitably involve and support Ugandan talent.
