Renowned events promoter Hajjat Mariam Mutakubwa, popularly known as Biggie Events, has been sentenced to six months in Luzira Prison after failing to settle a UGX 70 million debt.

According to court documents, Biggie Events was ordered to clear the amount owed to a business associate but failed to do so within the agreed timeframe, prompting legal enforcement.
The promoter, known for organizing major entertainment shows and managing high-profile events across Uganda, reportedly pleaded for more time to pay back the money but her request was denied.

Biggie’s imprisonment has sent shockwaves through Uganda’s entertainment industry, with many sympathizing with her while calling on fellow promoters and musicians to step forward and offer support.
