The Lango sub-region is mourning the death of Mzee Yosam Odur Ebii, the former Paramount Chief of Lango, who passed away this Monday morning at the age of 99.
According to family sources, Mzee Odur died at Lira University Teaching Hospital, where he had been receiving medical care for the past few days.
Mzee Odur, who served as the Won Nyaci (Paramount Chief) of the Lango Cultural Institution for several years, was highly respected for his wisdom, humility, and dedication to promoting peace and cultural unity across Northern Uganda.
Leaders and locals have since paid tribute to the late chief, describing him as a pillar of the Lango community and a man who devoted his life to cultural preservation and leadership.
Funeral arrangements are underway, with details to be communicated by the family and the Lango Cultural Foundation.
