Frank Gashumba’s recent introduction “Kukyala” ceremony in Sembabule has left many Ugandans surprised, especially after his past bold statements against marriage.
Just last year, Gashumba openly declared that he could never get married, citing his experiences with a partner who had a high sex drive, which left him exhausted.
He famously remarked, “I cannot get married. What will a woman give me?… Each time you entered bed, she wanted some… At one moment I felt like I was gonna die.”

So, what changed?
While Gashumba has not publicly explained his change of heart, it is clear that love can sometimes alter even the strongest beliefs. His decision to proceed with a “Kukyala” ceremony suggests that he may have found a partner who aligns with his values and lifestyle, changing his perspective on commitment.

Moreover, Gashumba is known for his bold and unpredictable nature, making it possible that his decision was spontaneous, driven by genuine affection rather than a complete shift in his views on marriage.
Whether this marks a complete reversal of his anti-marriage stance or simply an exception, only time will tell.
