Musician Hajat Stecia Mayanja has officially announced that she is no longer a member or president of the National Peasants Party (NPP).
The announcement comes just days after she faced backlash for performing at President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s event in Kololo, with critics accusing her of betraying her party.
In her statement, Stecia made it clear that she has no intention of abandoning her music career for politics.
“I will not ditch music for politics. Music is my first love. I will soon reveal my next move,” she said.
Her exit has sparked mixed reactions, with some fans supporting her decision to focus on music, while others question her political credibility after leaving the party at a critical moment.
