Legendary Ugandan singer Halima Namakula has expressed deep appreciation for Eddy Kenzo, the President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, for his efforts in bringing back veteran artists to the music scene.
Halima, known for timeless classics and her maternal role in Uganda’s music industry, applauded Kenzo for not only acknowledging the legends but actively creating space for them to shine again.
She noted that while much of the focus has been on the younger generation of musicians, Kenzo has gone out of his way to organize jam sessions, offer moral support, and encourage concerts for the pioneers of Uganda’s music industry.

“Eddy Kenzo has truly reminded Uganda that legends still matter.
We paved the way, and now we feel seen, heard, and valued again,” she said.
Her remarks have been widely welcomed by fans and music stakeholders, calling it a necessary step toward uniting Uganda’s music industry across generations.
