A heartbroken woman, Christine Kyarikunda, is still struggling to come to terms with a painful betrayal — her own blood sister allegedly had secret affairs with her husband, a Uganda Prisons officer, which eventually ended in marriage and a new family.
In a deeply emotional interview, Christine described how her world crumbled when she returned from a trip only to find her home completely empty — her husband, sister, and children had vanished without a trace.
“I never thought my own blood would do this to me. My sister was my closest friend… I trusted her with everything,” she said through tears.
Christine says the betrayal began when her sister — just 17 and a virgin at the time — frequently visited their home. She had no suspicion that anything was happening behind her back.
Eventually, after frantic calls and silence, a neighbor informed her that her husband and sister had been spotted living together in another town, already raising her children and expecting another child.
Now depressed and emotionally shattered, Christine is appealing to women’s organizations and local authorities in Kampala for support in regaining access to her children.
Her story has sparked outrage and sympathy, with many calling for justice and support for women who face similar domestic betrayals.
