Kampala Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Shamim Malende, has undergone surgery at Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya.
The MP has been battling health issues since November, when she reportedly sustained injuries during the chaotic scenes in Parliament that followed the passing of the controversial Coffee Bill.
According to sources close to her, the injuries she suffered during that incident have had lasting effects, prompting her to seek further medical attention abroad.
Many of her supporters and colleagues have since taken to social media to send her messages of support and prayers for a full recovery.
We wish Hon. Malende a speedy return to good health.
