Controversial and often misunderstood, struggling singer Fik Gaza has finally come out to defend his recent move to join the ruling party, NRM, saying it wasn’t about chasing the bag, but about representing the ghetto youths who raised him.
Speaking to the media, the “Banana” hitmaker cleared the air:
“I didn’t join NRM for money. I joined because I want to be the voice of the ghetto. They need someone on the inside to fight for their interests”
Money or Mission?
Fik Gaza’s political affiliation raised eyebrows, with many critics accusing him of selling out for cash, especially at a time when his music career seems to be losing momentum.
But the singer insists he’s on a mission to help empower youth through connections, access, and policy influence, not just music.
“Ghetto life is not easy, and it’s worse when you’re shouting from outside. I want to speak from the inside”
