Veteran Ugandan singer Iryn Namubiru has sent out a strong caution to upcoming female musicians, advising them not to fall into the trap of sleeping with producers and managers in exchange for fame.
Speaking during an interview, Iryn stressed that shortcuts in the music industry don’t guarantee success.
“Some ladies think that sleeping with producers will make them famous, but that is not true. Work hard and be consistent,” she said.
The celebrated vocalist, who has been in the industry for decades, encouraged rising stars to focus on building their craft, discipline, and brand if they want to achieve long-lasting success.
Her remarks have sparked conversations among fans and fellow artists about the challenges women face in the Ugandan music industry.
