Israel has deleted a condolence message shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account that mistakenly announced the death of Pope Francis.
The now-deleted post read, “Rest in peace, Pope Francis, May his memory be a blessing,” and was shared on Monday, sparking confusion and concern worldwide.
However, the message was based on false reports, as the Pope is very much alive.

According to Hebrew media sources, Israeli diplomatic missions around the world were immediately instructed to remove any similar condolence messages and to refrain from signing any condolence books.
The incident highlights the risks of misinformation in the digital age and the importance of verifying sensitive news before sharing on official platforms.
