Uganda’s pride, Jacob Kiplimo, has etched his name in the history books after winning the 2025 Chicago Marathon in a remarkable time of 2:02:23, becoming the first Ugandan ever to win a World Marathon Major.
This incredible victory marks only his second marathon appearance, following his impressive debut in London, where he finished second earlier this year.

Kiplimo’s dominant performance in Chicago solidifies his place among the world’s best long-distance runners, showcasing Uganda’s growing strength on the global athletics stage.

Kenyan stars Amos Kipruto and Alex Masai finished in second and third place, respectively.
Congratulations to Jacob Kiplimo a true champion flying Uganda’s flag high on the world stage.
