Legendary Ugandan Afrobeat artist Jose Chameleone is taking his impact beyond borders, announcing plans to launch a School of Creative Music and Arts in Western Equatoria, South Sudan.
Speaking passionately during a public event in Yambio, Chameleone said this initiative is his way of giving back to a region that shaped a big part of his artistic journey.
“My first visit to South Sudan was in 2002. Since then, this place has held a special place in my heart” Chameleone told the crowd.
Music Meets Legacy
Known for hits like Valu Valu and Kipepeo, Chameleone’s school aims to nurture young talent, providing professional training in music, performance, and arts, especially in a region that has seen little investment in creative industries.
“I want to build something lasting for the youth a platform they can use to dream big like I did” he added.
This bold move is already receiving applause across East Africa, with fans praising Chameleone for planting seeds of empowerment through music.
