Kawempe North Member of Parliament Elias Nalukoola has announced his intention to take legal action against journalists who reported that he, along with all 529 legislators, received Shs100 million from President Museveni as a reward for passing the controversial Coffee Amendment Bill of 2024.
Nalukoola, who recently secured victory in the Kawempe North by-election, expressed outrage at the claims, insisting he did not receive any such money.
He further emphasized that it is both misleading and absurd to suggest he was “appreciated” for a bill he neither participated in nor amended.
“I will not sit back and watch my name be dragged through the mud. I have a duty to protect my integrity and the truth,” Nalukoola stated.
He vowed to pursue legal redress and urged the media to verify information before publishing such damaging reports.
