Acting Leader of Opposition Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi has laid down the law, issuing a firm ultimatum to all opposition MPs regarding the controversial Shs 100 million payment.
Kivumbi has demanded that each MP publicly sign a resolution affirming they have neither received nor intend to receive the funds—calling it a “Cash Bonanza”.
Addressing the press at Parliament, a tough-speaking Kivumbi made it clear that non-compliance will be interpreted as an admission of guilt and could cost MPs their party cards, with voters closely watching their leaders’ integrity.
“Each member is going to sign the resolution to say, ‘I did not receive the money and I’m not taking it, and I condemn it,’ and the signing starts now,” he declared, citing past mistakes by MPs like Hon. Dr. Kagabo and Hon. Mpuga as cautionary tales.
Kivumbi’s bold stance aims to restore trust and accountability in opposition leadership amid growing public scrutiny.
