National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has sent a strong message to those doubting his presidential ambition.
While addressing supporters, Kyagulanyi pointed out a striking historical pattern in Uganda’s leadership. He noted that the late Milton Obote became President at the age of 43, the late Idi Amin also took power at 43, and President Yoweri Museveni assumed leadership at the same age.

“Now I am also 43 years,” Kyagulanyi stated, using the comparison to emphasize that age should not be used to question his readiness to lead the country.

His remarks were widely seen as a direct response to critics who argue that he lacks the experience to run Uganda. Kyagulanyi’s supporters say the statement reinforces his confidence and determination to challenge the status quo.

The NUP leader continues to position himself as a serious contender in Uganda’s political landscape, insisting that leadership is about vision, courage, and the will to serve the people not age alone.
