Ugandan singer Laika Music, real name Laika Umuhoza, has come out to clarify rumors that she doesn’t get booked for shows.
In a recent interview, Laika revealed that she often performs in different parts of the country including Kampala, Mbarara, and Jinja. However, she noted that many show promoters from far places like Northern Uganda fail to meet her rates.
She used Arua as an example, saying she charges UGX 8 million for a 40-minute performance there. Laika explained that the high fee covers costs like transport, makeup, outfits, security, and time.
She added that her rate reflects the value and energy she brings to every performance.
