
Ugandan movie lovers are bracing for the end of an era as celebrated video jockey (VJ) and legendary movie translator VJ Junior has officially announced his plans to retire from the craft that made him a household name across the country.
Speaking to media this week, VJ Junior revealed that he feels he’s done enough and now wishes to step aside to give space to the younger generation.
“I am soon retiring from movie translation. I have done my job and believe it’s time I quit to leave space for the young generation,” he said.
The Voice of a Generation
For decades, VJ Junior has brought Hollywood action, Nollywood drama, and Bollywood blockbusters to life for Ugandans with his iconic Luganda commentary, catchy phrases, and humorous storytelling.
His voice turned ordinary films into unforgettable experiences for fans across all age groups.
“I want the people I inspired to enjoy what I’ve been doing for a long time,” he added, clearly proud of the legacy he leaves behind.
