Online detectives recently alleged that the fundraising campaign for Chef Mama D, who claimed she needed money to clear an overwhelming hospital bill, was a scam.
The drive reportedly raised 6 million shillings from generous Ugandans who rallied to her rescue.
In response, Mama D angrily stated that anyone who wanted a refund should come forward, adding that she was more than willing to pay back every penny.

Her defiant tone, however, seemed to anger online stakeholders even more, fueling heated debates about transparency in public fundraisers.
The controversy has left many questioning the trustworthiness of personal fundraising campaigns shared on social media.
