Measles Outbreak in Texas: 709 Cases Confirmed
The Texas Department of State Health Services has reported an ongoing measles outbreak, with 709 confirmed cases recorded since late January.
This marks an increase of seven cases since the last update on May 6.
Health officials estimate that fewer than 10 of the confirmed cases are currently active and infectious, given that their rash onset occurred less than a week ago.
Measles is highly contagious, with individuals capable of spreading the virus four days before and four days after the appearance of a rash.
Authorities are urging residents to ensure they are vaccinated and to take preventive measures to curb the spread of the virus.
