“There was a moment when my brother Mike Wine wanted to meet Bobi Wine, but one of his bodyguards—acting like a foot soldier—blocked him, saying it wasn’t possible at the time,” said a visibly frustrated Eddie Yawe, sparking new tensions within the National Unity Platform (NUP) family.
Eddie Yawe expressed disappointment, emphasizing that Bobi Wine is their brother by blood, not just by politics, and that no one should block family members from accessing each other.
He went further to caution over the growing narrative that Bobi Wine is more intelligent or special than his relatives, saying that such sentiments insult their entire family, since they all share the same father and upbringing.
“Sometimes I regret why we even joined politics,” he added, expressing frustration at how politics and internal party dynamics have begun to interfere with personal and family relationships. Eddie Yawe called for respect, space, and unity, especially among those close to Bobi Wine, reminding them that family should always come first.
