Mrs. Jolly Shubaiha Kateregga has finally spoken out amid swirling accusations from her husband, Professor Badru Kateregga, the founder of Kampala University. In a powerful and emotional statement, she dismissed his claims of assault and business sabotage as “malicious, completely false, and deeply hurtful.”
According to Jolly, the real cause of the fallout is not domestic violence, but a business conflict.

“When I married him in 2012, despite family objections, he was financially struggling. I devoted myself to our home and to helping him build his business,” she said.
Jolly detailed her contributions as Director of Finance and Marketing and a Board of Trustees member, claiming her leadership helped clear university debts, establish new campuses across Uganda and even outside the country.

“I supported him through health issues, cared for his aging mother, and looked after our children. I didn’t destroy his empire—I helped build it,” she emphasized.
The statement has sparked intense discussion, as many await Professor Kateregga’s next move in this increasingly public marital and business dispute.
