Uganda is mourning the loss of Cedric Babu Ndilima, a celebrated media personality, former tennis star, and businessman, who has been pronounced dead after battling heart failure.
Cedric, the son of veteran politician Captain Francis Babu and former EALA Speaker Olivia Kigongo, and stepson to Margaret Nantongo Zziwa, passed away while under intensive care at Aga Khan Hospital.
His passing comes amid a public campaign that sought to raise UGX 1.5 billion to support a heart transplant.

Babu collapsed while in Kigali, Rwanda, where he had traveled to support his son during a sports tournament.
He was urgently airlifted to Kenya for specialized treatment, but despite efforts by medics, he could not recover.
Cedric Babu was widely known for his contributions to Uganda’s media and entertainment industry and for being a passionate advocate for youth development in sports and entrepreneurship.
His death is a huge blow to Uganda’s creative and sports sectors. May his soul rest in peace.
