Rwenzori Tourism Academy has announced a new partnership with Venna Farm Lodge Buyege to launch a practical training program in tourism and hospitality.
The program, set to begin in December 2025, is aimed at equipping learners with job ready skills that meet the demands of Uganda’s growing tourism sector.
The training will focus heavily on practical learning, with 80% of the sessions taking place in real hospitality environments.
This hands-on approach will give students valuable experience in areas such as customer service, housekeeping, front desk operations, and food and beverage management.
To further enhance their skills, learners will also benefit from internship placements where they can apply their knowledge in actual work settings while gaining essential soft skills like communication and teamwork.
At the end of the program, participants will be assessed by the Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) to ensure they receive certification that meets national standards.
In addition, graduates will join an alumni network through a dedicated WhatsApp group, where they can stay connected with peers, share job opportunities, and receive ongoing support for work placements.
This partnership represents an important step in building a skilled and professional tourism workforce that is ready to contribute to Uganda’s economic growth.
