Bobiwine’s trusted foot soldier Sauda Madada has abandoned the National Unity Platform (NUP) after clashing with the party’s electoral officials.
According to reports, Sauda was rejected during the internal vetting process, something she describes as unfair and politically motivated.
In response, she has picked nomination forms to contest as an independent candidate for Woman Councillor LCV, Kampala Central.
Her decision has stirred mixed reactions among NUP supporters while some sympathize with her rejection, others believe her move weakens the party ahead of the 2026 elections.
Madada, however, insists she is still loyal to Bobi Wine personally, but she cannot sit back while “her people’s voice is ignored.”
