
Kabalye Police Training School in Masindi District was thrown into shock and mourning on Wednesday, April 23rd, after a police trainee, James Tembo, tragically took his own life.
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred at around 2:30 PM when Tembo allegedly acquired a firearm from his colleague, Francis Onek, before turning it on himself. The motive behind the suicide remains unclear.
Authorities at the training school have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, including how Tembo accessed the firearm and whether there were any warning signs leading up to the tragedy.
The Uganda Police has expressed deep sorrow over the incident and emphasized the importance of mental health awareness, especially in high-pressure training environments.
