Uganda Cranes Unveil 30-Man Provisional Squad for AFCON 2025 Camp
Uganda Cranes have named a 30-man provisional squad ahead of their preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The squad includes goalkeepers such as Charles Lukwago, defenders Elio Caprodossi of FCSB and Halid Lwaliwa of Burton Albion, midfielders Khalid Aucho and Moses Waiswa, and forwards led by Milton Karisa.
Nine players in the team come from clubs in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, showing strong representation of local talent. The squad also includes experienced players, with the return of 2019 AFCON stars like Aucho and Timothy Awany, adding leadership and experience to the camp.

The team is scheduled to depart Entebbe International Airport at 5:30 p.m. aboard Qatar Airways for an 11-day residential camp in Casablanca, Morocco. During the camp, the Cranes will play two trial matches as the technical team works to reduce the squad to CAF’s required 28-player final list.
The camp is expected to play a key role in building team chemistry and readiness ahead of the tournament.
