Uganda’s U17 national team, the Cubs, suffered a tough 5-0 defeat against Morocco in their opening game at the 2025 U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The young Ugandan side struggled to contain a dominant Moroccan team, which capitalized on its attacking strength to secure a convincing victory.
Despite Uganda’s efforts, Morocco controlled the game and found the back of the net five times, leaving the Cubs with a difficult start to their AFCON campaign.
It’s a disappointing result for Uganda, but the team will look to bounce back in their next fixtures and fight for a place in the knockout stage.
