Members of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) today visited Parliament to receive updates on the ongoing Copyright Law Amendment process.
The delegation, which included prominent artists, met with legislators to discuss provisions in the proposed changes that could impact musicians’ earnings, intellectual property protection, and enforcement against piracy.
According to the UNMF, the amendment is a crucial step toward ensuring Ugandan artists benefit fairly from their creative work, both locally and internationally.
Parliament has promised to continue engaging with stakeholders before the bill moves to the next stage.
