As thousands of Ugandans continue to seek greener pastures abroad, Don Chris, CEO of Skypins Tours and Travel, has sparked a heated debate with a cheeky but serious question:
“I have already left the country. Who will vote Museveni or Bobi Wine in the next elections if everyone wants to go abroad?
DonChris made the remark while speaking to a group of emotional clients desperate to leave the country by any means.
His statement, while humorous, highlights the rising trend of youth migration and political fatigue in Uganda.
Brain Drain or Survival?
With unemployment, economic pressure, and political uncertainty at home, many Ugandans especially the youth are opting to “japa” (run away), leaving behind elections, activism, and any hopes of reform.
Don Chris’s remarks are now making rounds online, with some agreeing and others asking if voting still makes a difference when people have already checked out mentally or physically.
