The acting electricity supplier in Uganda, UMEME, is officially handing over operations to the Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL). This transition marks a significant shift in the country’s electricity sector.
As part of the changes, the popular prepaid electricity service “Yaka” is being rebranded to “Light.” This move is aimed at improving service delivery and aligning with the new management’s vision for Uganda’s power sector.
Further details regarding the transition and any operational adjustments will be communicated by UEDCL in the coming days.
Consumers are advised to stay updated on how these changes may affect their electricity services.
